Magic City Classic Traffic Plans

Campus Community:

We wanted to make everyone aware that the Magic City Classic football game is this Saturday, October 28, at 2:30 p.m., at Legion Field. As a result of the game, traffic surrounding campus will be highly congested that day and evening.

While there may be limited access to and from campus from the Bruno Entrance, the gate below the lake (12th Street) will be open and staffed throughout the day until traffic has normalized. We have developed a plan with the Birmingham Police Department to allow traffic to enter and leave campus through that gate, but we suggest that unless you must travel off campus on Saturday it would be best not to leave at all during the day. Part of the plan is for BPD to recognize dash placards with "BSC" written on them, and to assist campus traffic displaying the placards as you go and come. The placards can be obtained at the CPD main gate. You can also print a copy of the placard here and a map of the alternate route to campus here.
